Super Soft Sugar Cookies

Happy Halloween!

I love most any cookie and I especially love sugar cookies with plenty of frosting on top! And don’t forget the sprinkles!

I started using this recipe I found here a while ago and I love how soft the cookies are and it works really well for cutout sugar cookies which I did with a pumpkin cookie cutter.

Here are some of my tips:

I put don’t a layer of parchment paper on my countertop and put plenty of flour down on the paper along with the rolling pin and cookie cutters to avoid the dough from sticking to everything. Plus after I am down with cutting out the cookies, I can roll up the parchment paper and throw it away! No messy countertop!

he recipe I follow says to bake them for 8-9 minutes but I usually put the timer at 6-7 and take the cookies out as soon as they are slightly brown on the edges.IMG_5800I use a pretty simple frosting that my mom used to make when we were younger. I don’t use exact measurements since it is pretty hard to mess up. I use powder sugar, 1 tbsp melted butter, small amount milk and a few drops of vanilla. I mix all the ingredients by hand until the power sugar isn’t lumpy anymore. If you want to, you can add some food coloring as well.

Here they are! They aren’t the prettiest cookie you will ever see but they are definitely a yummy and easy sugar cookie to make!IMG_5803Thanks for stopping by!
